win money win money, the intelligent way
my talented friends,since we have no jobs ( i believe?) it occured to me that we should try our luck at competitions. creative ones, for challenge. i found a few. heres one thet might interest liqi :TOA PAYOH HERITAGE TRAIL DESIGN COMPETITION
RULES & REGULATIONS*
1.0 Objectives of the Competition
1.1 Generate greater interest and knowledge of our locality heritage among the youths;
1.2 Uplift a sense of belonging and pride in one’s living environment and build social cohesion;
1.3 Provide an opportunity for the youths to work with grassroots leaders; and
1.4 Encourage creativity and entrepreneurship among the youths.
2.0 About the Competition
2.1 The competition is organised by the Central Singapore CDC.
2.2 Each participating team is to submit a business proposal for an interactive and stimulating walking trail model that lasts about 2 hours in the Toa Payoh neighbourhood. The main target audience of the trail is youths.
2.3 The proposal should cover the trail content as well as its execution plan in hard or soft copy:
2.3.1 The trail content will include the route with components such as:
• historical landmarks with special association with the community for social, religious or cultural reasons;
• views and stories of people;
• old trade; and/or
• unique flora and fauna.
2.3.2 The trail execution plan will cover:
• publicity and outreach;
• frequency of trail;
• website;
• collaterals; and
• trail guides requirements and recruitment.
2.4 The teams are to take into consideration the implementability and sustainability of the trail.
3.0 Who can participate?
3.1 This competition is opened to all upper secondary and above students. There is no limit to the number of teams per school. Each team can comprise up to a maximum of 6 participants.
3.2 The competition is divided into two categories:
• Category 1: Upper Secondary Level
• Category 2: Post Secondary Level
3.3 Both softcopy and hardcopy of entries are to be submitted by Friday 29 July 2005 at 5pm to:

4.0 Judging Criteria
4.1 All entries will be judge on the following criteria:
• content, in terms of relevancy, originality, organisation and extent of research;
• presentation; and
• feasibility of proposal.
4.2 Short-listed finalist teams will be notified for a presentation to the Judging Panel in August 2005.
4.3 Judges’ decision is final. All entries shall become the property of the Organisers who shall reserve the rights to reproduce them.
5.0 Prizes
5.1 A certificate of participation will be given to all participants.
5.2 Schools of the top 3 teams will each receive a plaque.
5.3 Prizes for each category are as follows:
• 1st Prize - $500
• 2nd Prize - $350
• 3rd Prize - $200
• 3 consolation prizes worth $100 each
6.0 Compulsory Briefing and Workshop
6.1 All participants are required to attend a briefing and free training workshop prior the competition at end May 2005.
7.0 Registration
7.1 Participants are to register for the competition using the registration form provided.
7.2 Registration fee per team of six is $10.

( by the way, my personal tragedy regarding deadlines has inspired a comic strip outta me! as soon as im free of occupations busying my life, i would learn to erm, soften the hardcopy and put it up here. its lame really. but most of comic is)

Competition Categories
Calling for long-form scripts and digital short films! All keen scriptwriters and filmmakers, regardless of skill levels and backgrounds, can participate. Enthusiasts have till July 25, 2005 to submit their works.
National Scriptwriting Competition
Previously known as the MDA National Scriptwriting Competition, the Scriptwriting category is dedicated to helping scriptwriters hone their craft and find alternative access to the screen.
Filmmakers may submit either a 60-minute script for a television drama, or an 80- to 120-minute script for a feature film.
On top of cash prizes totalling S$36,000, commercially viable scripts stand a chance to be produced into High-Definition Television Drama series or Feature Films. Winners may also have the opportunity to work with the talented Jack Neo on such productions, using state-of-the-art technology.
The Scriptwriting Category is jointly presented by J Team Productions. The HD television drama series will be co-produced by J Team Productions and MediaCorp Studios.
Digital Short Film Competition
Short Film – Open Category
The Open Category is for short films submissions under 10 minutes in length. There is no restriction on the theme or genre, but the film must be shot on the digital format. All films must incorporate the signature item for the 2005 Fiesta, a Panasonic logo, which can be featured in any creative manner. Filmmakers of all ages, professions and nationalities are welcome to participate.
Winning filmmakers stand to win product vouchers totalling S$16,000 in cash value.
